Woman Murdered on Elliott Street, Felling
Posted by David Bolt on October 15, 2019, 12:38 am
I am researching a story about a Woman who was murdered by her husband on Elliott Street, Felling (opposite Felling pit. My great grandmother lived in Elliott Street Between 1916 and 1938. I understand that when the accused was taken away my grandmother went into the back kitchen and removed bread dough that was rising in a dish, so it was not wasted.
Any help please with the story or photographs of Elliott Street, Felling
Welcome to the message board David. Gateshead Local Authority have a couple of photos of the street in their Archives at the Library, but charge for copies. Here they are with watermarks on plus an old map. Hope this helps.
Hi Norman, Thank you for the photos, the last time I remember Elliott street would be visiting my grandmother at No. 29 in the late 1960s. I think she lived in the middle block. At some point my great grandmother lived on Back of Elliott Street.
Will need to call in at Gateshead Library, pronto.
