My father was sailed with the Merchant Navy in ww2, and my mother was staying with his mother in Monkton Village in 1941. |
At the time, my my mother was pregnant with me and my grandmother decided because there had bee no bombing on Clydebank where her sister lived, it would be good idea if they went and stay with her in Scott St , in Dalmuir.
No sooner had they arrived and the air raids started. They were advised my the authorities to leave if there was somewhere else to go to. My mother and grandmother immediately returned home to where I was born May 17.1941.
