CHRISTMAS WISHES TO EVERYONE.
A lot of folk rely on this very unique, interesting and lively message board, from ‘back home’, and many just can’t do without their daily read. I think we’re all a bit spoilt for choice - what, with interesting stories and chat; Alan’s ‘Wotsits’; Lilian, Alex, Elizabeth, Don and others’ wise comments and reliable long memories;
The new Hebburn Archives: http://hebburnarchives.info/ ; Patrick Brennan’s historical knowledge: http://www.donmouth.co.uk/; Peter Cook, our new shipping aficionado, with an immense shipping knowledge; Trish Conway, and Shirley Gardiner’s sterling, ongoing charity work; John King’s excellent Geordie Jokes – he’s a regular laugh; Brian’s immense music and film knowledge - which this year is a musical run-up to the nativity; James Goring’s ‘Then & Now’ and other fantastic pictorial contributions – I love his Christmas and New Year header pics; Ricky’s excellent computer advice; Tom Barker, Mac Cummings, Michael Lynch and Llyn Green’s great little stories; Stan Wear’s - our very own Architectural Ecclesiologist with a plethora of interesting anecdotes and facts; Allan Campbell’s adventures; Vikki Holt, local historian, uncovering puzzles of the past on our behalf, and last, but not least, the numerous contributions from everyone else. It makes you proud, doesn’t it?
I have a great regard for the lovely folk that use this board, and see it as our little cyber-community… which I’m sure you do too. It is such a pleasure to visit, and I know that many of us regulars feel the loss when a friend - even if we’ve never met in person - leaves the board or passes on. Please raise a glass in memory of them.

I respect Norman Dunn, for his relentless hard work, kindness and understanding, and especially for taking over the helm, by building a brand-new message board on our behalf, just 3 years ago - how good’s that? Without the board we wouldn’t be here sharing this message. Also, I commend the good work done behind the scene by Norman’s wonderful Administration Team, and applaud how quickly and frequently they respond to queries… and more amazingly, how often they are solved!
I’d like to say thank you to everyone that uses Norman’s message board, whether you contribute or not, for making it all happen; especially a huge thank you to Norman, for keeping his board a safe and happy place to visit for all of us over these last three years – long may it continue.
Christmas is a time to remember loved ones. It’s a time for giving and sharing. It is the time of loving and forgiving and to feel the joy and happiness of being loved and to be loved.
Wishing you a merry Christmas 2019 and a happy New Year, 2020.
