For Norman Dunn

Crazy telephone calls to my landline were as frequent as 10 or more per day. It seemed that the caller new exactly when I was about to have a meal and the Asian voice would advise me of how he could fix my computer or my telephone or anything else that he or she though needed fixing. Like other subscribers to this board I reasoned with the caller, yelled at him, joked with him, acted stupid and clucked like a chicken. I would pretend to be aghast that my device was as bad as described and would thank him for his assistance and suggested he call again next year. Sometimes I said I was not who he thought he was speaking to as I had just died. Advised him it would be no use calling tomorrow as I would not be feeling much better. All to no avail. I have answered calls as God, Hitler, Allah and other similar characters. As Allah I told the guy I had put him in my black book which did annoy him. Unfortunately these evil people have all the persistence and resistance of the man from the Pru. You are wasting your time blowing whistles, bagpipes and the like down the phone. Norman is correct. It is ridiculous that BT do not put a stop to this abuse of our time and money. Moreover, They can do it. |
I am with Talktalk who are certainly not a company which endears itself to their customers. Year after year failure upon failure but I stay with them because of the fear of change. However, this awful company suddenly offered me an opportunity to rid myself of the ridiculous mind numbing telephone scams. I wasn't singled out for this as a reward for sticking with them. No, the process is offered FREE to all their customers. A simple process rids you forever of Gunga Din, Arri Crishna and all the other thieving evil men and women from wherever they call. I have been free from this daily nightmare for more than two years now. This is NOT an advert for Talktalk who I consider a poor company- it is just a fact. See the following which is from my Talktalk account. The reference to Last Caller Barring was a previous system which involved the customer too much. "Callsafe" is a new and MUCH improved system. My Asian adversaries have moved on as they can no longer get to me. perhaps they are seeking those who do not have a system such as that used by Talktalk customers
How CallSafe works
Every time you get a call, CallSafe checks to make sure it's someone you want to hear from. The caller is then either:
1 - Approved and put straight through to you.
2 - Blocked so that your phone doesn't ring.
3 - Screened to confirm who they are.
Numbers that you've dialled more than once in the last 35 days will automatically be Approved, and any numbers you've barred using Last Caller Barring will be blocked, to find out more on how to use see our article Last Caller Barring.
When a call is screened, the caller is asked to record their name. CallSafe will then play it back to you and you choose how to handle the call. Unwanted callers usually hang up at this stage because they don't want to leave their details.
Norman, if you have my landline number, ring it to see what happens. If you do not have my number, email me and we can take it from there.
