People from all walks of life have used their differences as weapons if that the right word, I have worked as an equalities officer and have seen some strange stuff, a disabled person using their disability to try and get a place to build a ramp in a listed building citing their were discriminating against her, even though they had managed to make an accessible entrance at the side of the building. An asian gentleman who believed he could do what he wanted or say what he wanted as he could not be prosecuted for racial discrimination because of his colour, a very nice policeman told him in no uncertain terms he was wrong. I had a lesbian lady put in a complaint about going into a bar (this bar was dog rough) and being touched up, I passed her onto the police who asked why she went in the bar as it was so rough , she replied I can go where I want, I should not be refused admittance, she hadn't been, he asked had being touched happened to her before and she replied yes in gay clubs so he asked did you report that, the answer was no. Some people will try and use their differences as a weapon to gain something and a lot of times it's personal. There has been terrible things done to people because of creed, colour, culture, sexual orientation, disability, religion even where people were raised or what school they went to and it should never happen but it does, the world isn't perfect. We are all equal but some people would like to be more equal than others.|
