I thought it was the same make of car as the one used by Evelyn Forster who was murdered on the moors near Otterburn in the 1930s. That was an American Hudson 6. A re-think and maybe it's an Austin from the same time.

The steering column in the Hudson came almost into the middle of the car in front of the screen. It looks similar in Alan's wotsit which made me think of the American car - but the wheels are wrong. So not the Hudson.

yes laurence austin ten 1933,nice work for someone,"not me ".
My Dad had one in 47/8 but I slightly better condition that that. It is the first vehicle I remember principally because a youth threw a half brick at us in the street leading up to the Power House and hardly a scratch.
