Barrie, when you were building all those haystacks, did you notice those lorries sneaking past? There are 37 of them - go check, prove me wrong. Where were they going? This was Newton Park Road, Newcastle 1920s. Surely you haven't forgotten already.
The original photo of the lorry convoy was taken in 1920 in what was then a rural area of Newcastle. This picture taken from street maps demonstrates the almost unbelievable march of time. Not sure of exact position on Newton Road as the scenery has changed so much. I have no idea what was going on at the time of the gathering of dozens of vehicles 100 years ago.
