Thank you to Lilian-Norman -Barry- John and Tom B,and, congratulations to all on this long impressive list of old kids on the block. I count 43 in all making a total of 3,103 years of experience - the average age works out at 72.16279 years. |
Yes I am now a nonagenarian and have been for nearly three years / the O E D : a person between 90 and 99 years. The next step up on this ladder I will become a centerarium - an antique-with perhaps a slot on the " Antique Road Show". I may even become " collectable"
Iilian, 86 and not a day older or deeper in debt. Sorry to learn of your back problem, evolution has not, as yet, sorted out the transit from walking on all fours to walking upright ' may be one day who knows'
This vehicle I have traveled in during the past 93ish years has served me well. It coughs and splutters first thing in the morning when asked to start up, but, having overcome that hurdle will happily chug on the test of the day, at the end of which it will ease ( wheeze ) down for the night - with the thought of a shot of 'REDEX' the morrow.
After all is said and done we are the product of previous generations to which I give credit , a big hug and a thank you.
Should we ever meet up somewhere , sometime the drinks are on me, whatever the currency may be I hope I have enough.
Tom B, I am sure that there were never any ' Queens' in the Hebburn Quay Board School in those days.
I have in the past- as a regular- posted snippets, observations, growing up memories in the first sixteen years at the 'University of Hebburn -upon - Tyne.
Look out for, Argyle Street Shops'-- The Hill - Another for instance- Rain rain come again- The man with as many faces- Cogitating, and Evacuees .
My other school( Clegwell Senior Boys) had only been open a few months when , complete with gas mask plus a luggage type lable I and other lads and lasses had to up sticks, move away from home and family to be plonked down in a strange new environment .
Thanks again folks, ' lang may yer lum reek '
