Stan, this dithering by the government is scary for anyone with children. They say it's unlikely children will catch it, that's not good enough in my eyes and I believe you are of the same mindset. |
It's fine for people to make these statements when there children are in fee paying schools with classes of around 10-12 children, but schools classes are overcrowded , the erosion fo funding to schools in general has had a huge impact on class sizes and resources, I have seen it before in the 1990s when I was a newish school governor, we lobbied at local and national level, it's up to parents to lobby the governing bodies of the schools and their councillors and M.P.s, Keep at them, those with children in academy set ups have no governing body to lobby. People have got to push and push hard.
Parents want clear guidelines not knee jerk reactions if the recent exam fiasco is anything to go by I really fear for not just the children but the staff too.
Ask the schools and the local education authority for the guidelines, it will be a public document so it should be available.
