Barry, you can archive all or any of the photos that I post here. That way they may survive beyond my demise. I have hundreds of photos that will end up on the pyre with me so, by all means, save them. |
Just had another read of Walter Wear's 'Quality Row' memoirs and I was thinking how good it would be to illustrate his work with original photos that would paint even more vivid pictures, especially for younger people who have no personal memory of such things. I am sure that most of us old fogies can visualise every scene that Walter described.
It would make a wonderful addition to the early 20th century local history of Hebburn. Not only that, it would be a fitting memorial and permanent tribute to Walter's story. I am sure that I could dig out at least a half dozen suitable images and there must be many more in Norman's Album and private collections. It would have to be very selective and relate directly to each little story that unfolds.
