My Family History big error on my part

My Campbell Great Grandparents came down to Hebburn from Paisley around 1885/6. |
G G/ F Campbell had moved to Paisley with his mother and her new family say 1875 ish.
I have about 25 photos taken by studios in Paisley, 6 of which are Campbellís the rest unidentifiable as yet.
My G G/M was a Fletcher and I have so far been unable to find her on the 1881 Census.I suspect that she was working in a household and given their surname in error.
Her Father lived and died in Airdrie in 1896.
He had remarried in 1869 and had a further 3 daughters.
The son and 3 daughters by his first wife maybe got pushed out as soon as they were old enough to work elsewhere.
I think that my G G/Pts met at around the time my G G/Fís workmate was married to my G G/Mís older sister. G G/F must have been Best Man. This late 1881.
In the last 3 weeks I have been able to get in touch with a descendant of the youngest of the 3 sisters of the 2nd marriage. So as you do I sent her some of the info. That I have collected over the years.
Then I dug out the marriage Cert of my G G /M eldest sister who had married in 1876 in Paisley. She was also in the 1881 Census of Paisley. I had thought that she and husband had gone to NY before 1880. I was able to find a copy of the 1905 c for the Bronx NY which says they entered the US in 1882
So it appears that the 3 sisters of the first marriage were living and working in the Paisley Mills. In @1881.
So it appears that the 19 unknown photos which I thought were Campbellís were almost certain to be of Fletchers and their friends.
So for the last 30 -40 years I have been sort of working the wrong track. I doubt that I will ever find out who is who, but I will have to try to identify the date of each photo by the style of the ladies dresses and their age. Where that will get me ?
So why did I not find this before. In the 1881C one sister was a visitor elsewhere. GG/M not found and the elder I had though had gone to NY. Before 1881. I had missed that she had entered the USA in 1882 and that probably because I was more interested in the address in the Bronx as I have photo of that house both 1905 and 2019 through Google.
The main pointer to this would have been the 1905 NY Census giving enter date to the USA which I obtained 5 years ago and had read correctly at the time.
So I am kicking myself in making a series of errors.
