I checked some of my records, and in 1936 John Dodds a Bootmaker lived there. It has been a Care Home for many years but still called the same name.
Next door out of sight is Eagle Cottage, and in 1936 George Hetherington an 'Attendant' lived there. They were both mid 1800 replacements for older buildings.
The building next along is the original Lord Nelson Public House, which was demolished around the time of the photo when the new Lord Nelson was built.
Just past the Nelson today is a modernish House, then a modernish Bungalow where Board Admin Barrie Mortimer was brought up.
