Hendees bread, brings back memories we used to use the wrapper to grease the bananaslide.🤣🤣🤣.

That took me back. Thanks Joseph. I remember when we used to wizz off the end of the slide in West Park.
And help my memory....
was that shop on the corner with Wiliam St?

I think that shop was on William St corner Mac. Next door I can make out D Lumsden.

If this is the shop I think it is (Towards the bottom of Albert Road) I used to do my mother's shopping every Thursday night, pay last weeks bill and get this weeks on 'tick'. The shopper used to pour sugar into bags, cut butter and cheese in weight and wrap in paper, brings back many memories.

There are Street names below the bill boards, but can't make them out.

I have a larger scan and its very difficult to read but I'm sure it's William St and why I agreed with Mac.

Thanks for confirming that Norman. My immediate recollection was that it was William St which was first on the left after coming down Albert Rd bank and under the rail bridge.
But I dont think that I was ever in the shop. We lived so near the Co-op in Beech St that nearly all our shopping was done there and of course for occasional stuff there were half a dozen corner shops within spitting distance.

there used to be a Christisons shop on Vitoria Road
/Howe Street, last time I was "home" it was a florists.
