Hello Bob (Noble), |
I’m so glad for you, that it is you on the Quay Board School photograph, and delighted that Norman queried it with you – how good’s that? You must be ‘over the moon’.
This message board brings so much happiness to visitors, and I think that today is a prime example of that.
Bob, as you’re now approaching your 94th birthday, this means that the Quay Board School photograph, taken about 1934/35, when you were possibly 7 or 8 years of age, is probably one of the oldest school class images we’ve actually dated and named children on – I’m going to say it again, how good is that?
Bob, I checked the 1939 Register, and found the following:
George Clark, b.1927, had family living at 114, Argyle Street, Hebburn.
I take it that in 1939, George lived at Daddy Shield, Weardale Rural, RD, with his maternal grandparents, Charles & Alice Ann Haw.
John Kennedy, b.1927, lived at 44, Campbell Street, Hebburn.
Bonar Laws, b.1927, lived at 1, Hedley Street, Hebburn.
Cheers, and once again, thank you for confirming that the little lad on the pic is you, and lifting the spirits of the many, many visitors.
