Patient Access

Does anyone use Patient Access for ordering their medication? Or more importantly for me, can anyone tell me how to have two people using the same email address now that Patient Access have altered their access rules?

Margaret. Ann does both mine and hers online to via our doctors website. Our doctors gave us all the access info. Ann’s sign in different to mine.

However there may well be differences between how various doctors operate.

With ours we can access our records.

You should contact your doctors to set it up which may be difficult these days.

I have used it Margaret but our surgery does not allow two people to have the same e mail address, therefore you have to create one per person

Margaret Ann goes onto our doctors website and signs in using an account name say -joebloggs1234 then a password say - wildman456

yours may well be different, again contact your doctor.

myself and better my half both get our prescriptions, appointments etc via doctors website, both different names, and passwords, quite a lot of surgeries also use date of birth.

Margaret, I have used Patient Access for a number of years, can’t remember how it all started. When you open up an account you are given a unique patient access number, then you have to have a password, I have access to making doctors appointments and ordering medication so this must refer back to my doctor’s surgery. About 2 months ago Patient Access decided to ‘beef’ up the security when signing in, I had to create a unique name, then I was asked create a prompt in case I couldn’t remember the unique name, so far so good, I use the system once a month.

My husband has his own patient access account, he uses a different email address to me.

I think to begin with you need to contact your doctors surgery, by the way when ordering a new prescription you are asked where you want to pick up the prescription, usually I use the doctors surgery but last year when I was spending time up in the north east I was able to arrange for my prescription to be ready at Boots in the Metro and also the local pharmacy in Pelaw, I thought that was quite good.

I have used this facility for accessing my blood results since starting with Rheumatoid Arthritis 3 years ago. I file the results & they are a handy reference when attending the various Consultants, as quite often these results are relevant

I get info from my local hospital group via Patients Know Best.....letters re appointments, cancellations consultant reports and similar.
But for things like appointments and prescriptions my surgery is linked via The Waiting Room which works perfectly.
I have had Patiient Access for some time but never have needed it.
