Family tree researching? - When trawling through old death records...Always be prepared for surprises! Found on a death certificate abstract from 1930s on same page as a family member...

Never seen one that’s quite as blunt as that.

One distant relation of family could have Gassed himself in 1940 ish I think, but put down as coal gas poisoning.

Now did he put his head in a gas oven or turn on a gas fire or maybe came in drunk ( he was known for that) and left the gas fire on.

No one else involved and no explosion.

Must read the DC again and see if I can find an inquest.

While researching ours there was a lot of interesting info in Church records, considering that the Vicar and the Lord of the manor were two of a few people who could read and write, we came across this written by the Vicar, " Son to Mary, who's husband has been away at sea for two years"

Fred It looks as if someone’s been a naughty girl.

However you have to be careful as I have found that some families had baptisms done as a batch job. Some children not baptised until they were a few years old.

If the age and birth date are given that helps.

In this case the vicar would appear marking a card.
