John Humphreys - Mastermind

Sadly John Humphrey is retiring from Mastermind. Of the many tales he told was, they were always more gentle with celebrities questions’ He had a Soap star and asked what breakfast cereal comes to mind when you think of Prison. He was expecting him to answer Porridge. Instead he answered Cheerios. I think people just panic in front of a camera. Well it made me laugh.

I think John Humphreys will be missed, hope they put someone suitable in to replace him!!

Well I hope if it is a female they will be good not a repeat of Fiona Bruce on Question Time.

Liz, Fiona Bruce is the flavour if the month so I wouldn't be surprised, but normally the Mastermind questionmaster tends to be older, if they keep to this formula Angela Rippon might be a good bet.

Liz, I was going to say exactly that, but had second thoughts. She has been dreadful on Question time. I gave up watching Question Time a long time ago.

Brian if it has to be a female, perhaps Kirsty Wark or Emily Maitlis, neither would be my choice. I would prefer Andrew Neil, but his seems as though he is going to be with his new news channel

whoever it is, it won't necessarily be on merit you just have to look at Fiona Bruce on Question Time,sorry but the Antiques Roadshow doesn't ready you for that sort of job.

Didn’t she win her case against the BBC for being paid less than male colleagues. For similar work.

Although it been illegal for 50 years to pay male and female workers different rates for the same job the BBC have done this continuously for years, if they get fined they don't care , it comes out of the license fees monies. So if some people accept the different scales they get away with it.
The BBC is an exclusive boys club and always has been, all it does now is tick boxes to appear inclusive.

I agree Brian, Question Time with Fiona Bruce has been a disaster. I haven’t watched it for over 12 months now.

I also agree about Question Time like you it must be over a year or more since I watched that, a pity really as it used to be entertaining.
