Leaving the message board…

Hello folks,

I’ve been on the message board since the late 90s, have been backing up the message board since April 2004 and have been Norman’s administrator since November 2016. I have loved every minute of it, and have become long-time friends with the good people of the board. So, it is with regret that I must say you that I will be leaving the board today.

I love you all and will miss you,

Barry I have already posted that I’m sorry to see you go. I think of how helpful you have been to people who sometimes have not been gracious in their reply. Your kindness will be missed. Barry I thank both you and your Dad for the info that you gave me about my Grandfather Big Allan Campbell.

Without the pair of you I would never have know that he was a Royal in Leslies.

You have been a mine of info over the years and will be missed a great deal, particularly by me.

I'm a lurked on this board probably like 300 other people. I give some good photos every now and then. When I find that Barry Cram has left it saddens me. I gave him lots of old cram photos. He is one of lifes good guys. Whatever the reason Baz take care and safe. How good was that.

Barry--if you are leaving for personal reasons then I respect that and can only say that we will miss you and your work but if you are leaving because of an issue with the board or a member then I think you should say so because we can't afford to lose a member such as yourself.--- best of luck for the future ... Always puzzles me as to why someone who is leaving a board/forum needs to post saying that they are leaving. Have seen this on other forums as well.
Surely you just stop posting? Or is this a ploy to get people to say 'Please don't go'

I guess it's the same reason someone posts that they are returning to the page and will be posting.

Is it a coincidence that one member leaves and another suddenly returns ?

If you read all the people Barry has helped Janice and all the good wishes to him, it might explain to you that he will be missed and if he just stopped posting ,a lot of people would be asking where he was and concerned. He was, as you can read and still is a popular and helpful guy.

Reading Barry's tales and seeing how he helped people on here was the main reason I lurked. It'll be a sadder place now he's left. A huge gap in knowledge to local and not so local people.

He asked a question as to why someone should post saying they were leaving a board - to seek attention maybes ?
He (Les Gibson) then says that because of recent events he will be posting. Same difference. Why the need to tell anyone he was going to post? To seek attention maybes?
I guess I'm just a bit nissed that Barry has left - he really was the first class poster. He was and is a mine of local information that has left the board.

If you are referring to me, the owner of this message board, all I can say is stop stirring up trouble.I was in contact with Barry via email as I was also shocked he was leaving. Barry knows he is welcome back anytime and everything others have said about how a great asset he has been I already knew.
