Yep Patrick. Thanks to Jean, I have just found Scotts on a pic in a Jarrow book from my shelves. It was also a Stationers. I used to get my pens and stuff there when I started at JGS. |
But the NP was bang next door to the Trustee Savings Bank. It was a three staff sub-office. Then became NatWest and I have a pic of it from one of Perry's tomes.
The next property was Scotts, then a Chemist Shop then Barclays. Lloyds was the bank opposite.
The other toy shop you recall at the bottom of Ellison St was Furlongs (also newsagent) It was next door to Dunns the tobacconist. The Coop haberdashery was just up from it.
Do you remember the Opticians next door to Lloyds. The owner was called Browne but the shop had a differnt name. Can you help me out?
