Clegwell Items

In the 50/60s the first thing everyone had to make in Mr Lees woodwork class was a small wooden ship and in Mr Nobles metal work class was a metal hat and coat hook, there must have been thousands of these items made,has anyone still got one ?

I'am a bit younger than yourself Geoff but I still use the hat & cloak hook I made in 1982. The garden Bench I made for my o level woodwork is in my Dads Allotment on Pigsty Avenue to this day.

we had Mr Noble in the early 1970s and he had us make a toasting fork for our first task in his class.

WOOD WORK lesson in 1950 .55 was mr Leeses we made a tea pot stand. Metal work mr Ellis we made a poker turning the handle our selves on the lathe.happy days at Clegwell.

One of our lads (Freddy) made a turntable item with four uprights (wool winder) for my mam to put put her skene of wool on to wind. Best item ever in those days because I always got the job of holding the wool to be wound into balls. Another of the lads made a poker and yet another one made a fire bleezer/blazer.
