windows ten

what a carry on i have had this last fortnight, got new pc with windows ten already installed most systems performed ok, but emails, they wanted long forgotten passwords, or no connection,information from other systems,my mobile phone number,so they could text me with codes,i very nearly told them where to stick it,but after much patience and a really good retired pc engineer it has been sorted,so i am back after nearly a fortnight, and hope i will never watch another episode of emmerdale as long as i live

I have Windows 10 on my Laptop................my Laptop rarely gets used !!

I bought my new W10 laptop in August. A month of sorting it as far as I could.

Up till August I would do a LOT of family history stuff most days.

Since then very very little, lost interest because of W10 and anti virus software wanting to update at ever higher price.

I understand that there is an W10 update coming in May that is major.

Just as well I have my old W7 tower still working. Thank goodness a lot of work to do in the garden over the winter has helped me from dumping the laptop (not really).

I can't understand the problems some are having. Back in April 2020 at the start of the pandemic lockdown, I decided to take advantage of the free upgrade offered by MS to take my laptop from Windows 7 to 10. It went smoothly (although it took a long time - I let it do its set-up thing overnight) and have had no problems.
I can see that some people who use an alternative ISP for their emails might have issues re-loading their details but other than that...
BTW, I can't understand why anyone would choose to have an independent email provider when they can simply use gmail.
