The new housing estate on Reyrolle's Test land

Can you remember the really tall Reyrolles's Test building up the high road with doors that went up as far as the roof? . It was called the 'Clothier Building' after one of Mr Reyrolle's top electrical engineers. Gary Numan the Popstar made a Video in it for one of his Hit records in the 1980s. |
Mr Clothier took over the reins when Mr Reyrolle died in 1919 and kept the company going, employing around 12,000 local men and women. When Reyrolles first settled in Hebburn 1902 ish it attracted other electrical companies like the Pyrotenax to set up in the town.
What thanks has our Council gave Mr Clothier when the building named after him was demolished and a housing estate built on the Clothier building land?
Instead of naming one of the new streets as a tribute to Mr Clothier, we have instead Swallow Drive, Swift Grove,Chaffinch Drive, Goldcrest.
Absolutely disgraceful because the Council should have insisted that Miller Homes use Clothier for one street. Of course Mr Reyrolle has nothing in the Town to thank him for employing so many people.(We did have a Reyrolle Court Flats which were built and demolished within 40 years)
Do our Hebburn Councillor never think like we do?
If they love their town and our History then they should propose these things to the builders.
