I would like to advise that l have been throughly enjoying your wonderful picture books of Jarrow and Hebburn. However, l think that the photo on page 114 in the Jarrow book has the the wrong caption all together. The double decker is a Northern General Transport Routemaster number 2089 with registration RCN 689 on service 27 to Hebburn Monkton Lane. But the view is at the old Sunderland Park Lane bus station and most certainly NOT at Jarrow bus station. Because the building behind the bus is the former Park Lane bus garage. (If this were to be Jarrow bus station, then l would have expected to see the enquiry office in the background as well as the steeple of Christ Church). I hope that this helps. But nevertheless it is a fantastic book !

Yes George nice to have you on board. Stick with it and subjects will come up from time to time and you'll probably also be able to contribute stuff to fill in some of the gaps.

My great aunt and uncle lived on Tynemouth Road in Primrose in the 1970s. Lizzie (nee Addams) and Geordie Gibbons were their names. They lived at No. 3; I remember visiting them with my mam as a young lad.
