Not sure if anyone can help, we have a Freeview box and are wondering if there is any way that you can get rid of the drop down box that keeps popping down on the top of the tv screen.

Try this Off the internet. How do I get rid of Freeview banner? Hide the Freeview pop up at the bottom of the screen Change channel so the Freeview pop up is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Press the RED button to load the MORE. Using arrow keys, navigate across to SETTINGS (the 'gear' icon) Navigate to MINI GUIDE TIMEOUT. Tap the LEFT ARROW key until OFF is displayed.
Thanks for all reply's. Tried remote for free view box and remote for samsung tv no joy. Yes we can watch in HD but the HD side does not do the North East news so have to switch back to normal viewing channel.
We've got a Freesat box for our second set and when setting it up I registered our address as our son's English one and get Tyne Tees on that. Our first set has our Scottish post code and we get Border TV.
That is one of the reason I like Sky. I can get all the BBC regional variations.....but not ITV which doesnt bother me. So typically at lunch time I see what is going down in my location and in the evening I look in to BBC Look North to keep in touch with "home"
