I was brought up in the Quay,born in Tyne st opposite the pawn shop in 1940.l went to the Quay Board school then on to Clegwell,l left Clegwell in 1955 l then l served my time in Palmers came out of my time in 1961 then emigrated to
I joined the scouts at st Cuthberts,then had a spell in the boys brigade then on to the army cadets down Ellison st then in my late teens l progressed to the TA.
I played football for the Quay later on l played for Hebburn prince Consort before leaving for Aussie,There were ten children in our family,l still have 2 sisters living in Hebburn and 2 bothers one is my twin living in Jarrow.
3 older brothersJimmy,John,Ronnie,went to the Quay Board school,sadly they are with us,may be a chance that you might have come across them,
