Needing some new bike bits

Getting to replacement/ updating time. |
Checked out the costs and they have risen quite a bit on the internet cycle companies sites.
It’s difficult to compare like for like as there are slight changes, to the pedals that I want, they appear to have gone up by 25-35%.
However there is a local cycle shop which sells to the Cyclo tourist fraternity and their prices seem to have risen a bit less.
On Tuesday at one local cycle shop I was told that quite a few bikes will not be available until 2023.
The manufacturers are being selective as to which bikes they make. The more popular models more obtainable, but still problems as getting the bits to build the bikes can be difficult.
I’ll find out 10 days when I order my new bike subject to a test ride next weekend.
All the cycle shops now have plenty stock say 25 bikes because a month ago they only had 5 or 6.
Maybe a Container got out of the docks.
Looked at a couple of Top End Bikes “Dream” bikes in the £9,500 to 12,500 range. Fantastic but the electronics on them WOW.
Development of bikes is surging ahead and the type of bikes available is now huge and I’ve lost track.
Just seem an article that there are special bikes designed just for hill climbing. Lower Ellison St. but steeper. They would probably be very poor on the flat. A new hill climb sport for cycles appears to be starting up.
The cycle club that I have just joined a large membership of all levels. On a weekend Saturday and Sunday 30+ one day 10 on the other all very friendly.
No doubt tomorrow I will be pushed to my limit again. The good thing is my fitness level was really pushed up after last Sunday’s ride. I have to learn how to take energy foods during the ride to avoid Bonking like I did last week.
