Hi Anne Old Wardley lad to the rescue.
The first photo is taken from the pit end of the Black Path to Wardley School, looking towards Amos’s Farm. The empty space is where the old pit-heap stood and the road along the right edge of the photo is where the road between the pit-heap and the railway line ran.
The second photo is the bridge we used to cross to go to Wardley School. The rooftop, centre bottom of the picture, is Old Wardley Club, now a private house. What were once fields, bottom left corner, is now a housing estate.
The third photo is taken from above where the old Miner’s Hall stood. You’re looking across the Football / Cricket Field towards where Waggonway Street stood. The pre-fabs were up in the top right corner. The winding path is where the old Welfare used to be.
The fourth is White Mere Gardens running left to right, Manor Gardens bottom to top. The circle of Leam Gardens behind the junction of the two streets.
The fifth is another one of the Cricket Field, the road from the Miner’s Hall to the pre-fabs is down in the bottom right corner.
Hope that brings back a few memories, let my know if you need any more information.
