A Reyrolles retirement in 1976

This is the day our Board Regular John Mills's dad retired in 1976.Names always needed please. Thank you.
Jack lived in Quarry Rd 1950s.

Lilian, I remember B very well, but don’t remember his name. I think he came from South Shields. He worked at the bottom end of Reyrolles. With respect Lilian, I don’t think it is John Dockery if you are thinking of Anne Dockery’s brother.

Johnny worked in Reyrolles and he was our neighbour in BluehouseRoad from 1949 yes he was Anne Docherty's eldest brother,And I recognised him on the photograph as soon as I seen his face.

Lilian, did you see the photo of Reyrolles Foremen and Managers 1976 posted April 25th. I would say E is the same person. I don’t doubt you, it’s just he is very like a person, I remember from Reyrolles, but can’t remember his name.

Thanks Norman, it does look like the same person on both photos. I just wish I had contact with some of the people from Reyrolles, as I’m good with faces but not with names. They might both be Anne Docherty’s brother. I only remember one brother when they lived in Charles street. Mr Docherty brought his family from Belgium just before WW2.

Hi Sheila,
Looking at both photos, they really do look the same person.
I remember a lovely couple called Ronnie & Margaret Docherty and Ronnie was from Belgium,& lived in Mill Cres. Margaret was a Joyce before marriage and her sister Bridgie lived in Grasmere Rd when I was a lad.
Ronnie & Margaret had sons & tragically one of them (Philip) was killed on the High Rd near Hebburn Tech. I knew the two other brothers Terry & Paul. Paul used to get on Mike Ellison's old board.Two lovely lads.

Mr Docherty who once lived in Charles street was in the firstbworld war,he met and married in Belguim where he lived on a farm they had four daughters and six sons.When the second world war broke out with Mr Docherty being an englishman they had to flee Belguim they returned to England as refugees and were given a house in Spencer street!in 1949 they moved to Bluehouse road sadly their dear mother passed away five weeks before they moved,they were a nice close family Anne became my friend she was the youngest of the family.I have many happy memories of them all you are correct that Rene known as ronnie married Margaret Joyce.whose wedding iwas invited to .

When they first arrived from Belgium the lived with Mr Dochertys sister Mrs Clewin in Charles Street. It must have been a bit of a squeeze as there were only two bedrooms I believe. My friends older sister was friends with Mrs Clewin’s daughter Joan.
