Geography at its worst!

I am gobsmacked that a vast number of folk here in Liverpool think Newcastle is in Scotland but worse still is many folk have never heard of Hartlepool. Also I'm often asked if the story of John Darwin is true or made up! Can't believe it!

I remember going away to college in York and people regularly asking me if Newcastle was in Scotland. I was only 90 miles away and they had no idea. It only got worse when I moved down to London!

I believe most people in the south, think England ends at Manchester, then it’s Scotland.

Hang on! Middlesbrough is south! South of Hebburn and Hartlepool or was I living in Scotland?!

Sounds like the northern tip of the UK is for many the best kept secret, why not just keep every one happy and leave it that way .
