Hebburn history lesson from 1933

This little history lesson is specially for younger visitors who are too young to have seen this part of 'Old Hebburn Quay' before it was demolished. Everything on the photo is long gone except St Cuthbert's Church on Ellison St-Argyle St junction..

That's an amazingly clear photograph, especially for the time. Are the houses (or flats) on Prince Consort Road the ones that are there today or were they demolished and rebuilt? Clearly the ones on the other side of the road (where White's factory is on this photo) are more recent.

Hi AJG,
I said the only building on that photo that is still there today is St Cuthbert's Church but on double checking I can see just behind 'K'is the roof of Hedley Schools on Argyle St which belongs to St Cuthberts Church, hence it wasnt demolished.
