I have old map, (dated 1800-1850) from the Archive Teaching Unit. |
It is a map of the River Tyne from the Tide Stone at Heddon-on-the-Wall to South Shields, issued by Trinity House, Newcastle.
It lists, (and I quote from the map),
The Coal Staiths, Principle Manufactories, Ballast Quays and Prominent Places on it's Banks.
It's about 3 ft. by 2 ft.
I know we have a shipyard expert on the Message Board, any use to you?
