Poetry in St Aloysius prefab school
Posted by Barbara on June 5, 2022, 3:06:30
Does anyone remember a teacher in St Aloysius pre fab school who used to encourage her students to write poetry and write it into a hard covered book. Each year she would read the poems of the former years students to her new class. The teacher must have passed on by now but I am wondering what happened to those books. Barbara
Hi Norman. Thanks for that pic with the "Bank" sign behind on the beautiful rounded corner of the Lloyds Bank Branch at which I was privileged to work at as part of my early career. I see so many people in the photos who I remember as customers but I fail to put a name to them. I also remember so many of the business people mentioned on this site who banked with us. I particularly remember the chain smoking Father McLeary. Quite a character. He regularly turned up just as we were closing with a lorry load of coin from the Bingo and collections. That was really popular (not) but he was a nice guy and often got us to open the doors even after hours. Happy memories.
