Fuel Costs

Yesterday my husband and I were out we drove past a garage the diesel price was showing £182.09, today he had to go out he said he would take my car and fill it up with diesel, he has just returned, told me not to stand up as I was in for a shock, the diesel price had risen 12p since we drove past yesterday afternoon, so to fill my car up with fuel it was just over £101!!! To my mind this is just profiteering, we will be in Hereford tomorrow we will see what the fuel prices are there, just as a matter of interest what are the latest prices up in the northeast?

When I got my first Motorbike about 1961, petrol was four and ten pence a gallon so 4 gals for a £1.
The Petrol Station attendant put the petrol in for you aswell.

I used to serve fuel at my dad’s garage and I can remember him saying that if they keep putting the price up then it will the ten shillings a gallon next!!!! He wouldn’t believe the price of it now.

At the Supermarket today diesel is 1.96€ per Ltr. About £1.70

Think you are right John don’t think the cost will be going down for quite sometime, just glad I don’t need to fill up my oil tank.

Brian the cost rose 12p in less than 24 hours to my mind that is just profiteering on behalf of the garage, a couple of weeks ago the same garage was selling both petrol and diesel for the same price of 1.77.

I heard someone on TV today say that 50% of the fuel price is TAX.
