Seeing your photo Norman,of Argyle st from way back when, also Floras memory of the old police station reminds me of me wanting a solicitor a few years ago l went into Scarborough and engaged one at random. |
I saw him in his office and introduced our selves he realised l was a Geordie,l mentioned l was born in Hebburn he with a broad Yorkshire accent said that he too was born in Hebburn in the early fifties, his father was a policeman stationed in Hebburn Argyle st station,he was a couple of years old when they moved on to Yorkshire, all we talked about for the first hour was about Hebburn.
Fast forward he settled in Scarborough his father went back to his place of birth which was the border country in Northumberland he used to see his father who was in his nineties now and then ,at one time l gave him a couple of Norman's Hebburn books to take with him and he liked them very much shortly after he passed away.true story.
Where ever you go you will always find a GEORDIE
