Newtown children 1948-50. Recognise anyone?

This photo was taken in Charles St.
I have some names with birth years that might help.
Maybe someone will see their family members from 70 plus years ago.
F Cooperthwaite b 1936, Shirley 1937,Amy 1938, Charles 1940,Denise 1943
I think the year is wrong cos Charles Dowling is supposed to be on it and born 1940. That big boy must be him and looks a lot younger..

Shirley and Denise temple were my mates sisters, Tommy Temple, Tommy died of cancer quite young..

Could that not be Willy Dowling Norman he would have been about 5 in 1950.

Hi Irene,
You could be right.
I add the names I'm given with the photos. As hou knos there were quite a few Dowlings in Hebburn.
For example George Dowling came to the house recently to buy a 'Good old Hebburn 2' book. He's Chairman (or similar) at Hebburn Legion Club.

I know George Dowling and his family very well they are not related to Willy Dowling.

Hi again Irene,
We moved to Grasmere Rd abt 1953 and we had Dowlings in the street aswell. They had 2 or 3 girls, but not sure if any sons. I remember seeing Mr & Mrs Dowling on a Pro Trip Photo taken in Carr St early 1950s.

There was 4 daughters and 1 son sadly one of the sisters is no longer with us.

John that was the same Willy Dowling I think he was only about 22 I think he married Shirley Yeoman sister to Ged Yeoman he was a good Javalin player at Clegwell

John when Brian and I were looking for a house in 1969 we were looking at Fellgate and Willy had just move on to that estate he came out and spoke to us. Nice lad

When Fahriye and I were getting ready to move back to the UK from Turkey, we also looked at Fellgate, there were a lot o f Hebburn people on the Estate I knew. Anyway moved to Benton eventually. We looked at Brian Phipps house.
