Bruce Hickmott

Bruce is a real gentleman and always started his posts on here with 'Hi it's Bruce here', then he'd ask his questions

I've just been informed by his friend Ken Wood that Bruce is very ill so thought I'd ask you for your prayers for him.
He worked at the Pyrotenax on Hedgeley Rd for just short of 24 years and loved his time there. His father also worked there so If anyone has memories or pics of the Pyro I'll make sure they are passed onto Bruce.

Hi Ken Wood here just trying to help Bruce and cheer him up, as he is in a bit of a dark place at the moment, just need some old mates from Pyrotenax or even the Alberta club , just give him a call to chat, he is at home after been discharged for the hospital, his carers are coming in every few hours, so if anyone worked with Bruce or even drank and played bingo at the Alberta, please contact me or Norman and I pass your name and phone number to Bruce, thanks if you can help.

Very kind of you Ken. Went to school with Bruce we met in the lord Nelson for a beer when home at one time. Give him my very best regards and good health. We are Praying for him.

Very sad to hear Bruce is not well. I always remember his posts, I think his sister is Zeta Hickmott. I remember her from Maureen Taylor’s birthday party, probably 1949/50. Hope you will soon feel better Bruce.

Thanks everyone, i called in to see Bruce today,few hours, Bruces Sister and Husband are down from Scotland together with I think Bruces brother, and his best mate Taff , so a very busy day for Bruce, I managed to get his Sky tv working , then his bedroom TV working, as he is downstairs now, so with everything's working it cheered Bruce up, what cheeered him up even more, when I showed him some old photos Normam emailed me (thanks Norman) with happy memories of Bruces days working in Pyrotenax,on that note, if anyone has any of Bruce working or even in the club be great to cheer him up ,thanks again for your prayers.

Ken It is good to hear that Bruce was feeling better,with having his family with him.
sheila zeta Hickmott was the sister of Trevor Munro.Bruce once said he was related to zeta through marriage.The Munro Family lived in Jutland ave Hebburn.
