Davy Too old now to look after it as I used too, rather be out on the bike. Shhh spend our money of enjoying ourselves in our twilight years. |
Our barn conversion ( not quite a granny flat) is easily adapted to allow wheelchair access if required in future years and our daughter designed it that way.
I had helped with the conversion some years earlier.
We were asked if we wanted to move back in here, the daughter was tiling the kitchen at the time.
It took 30 seconds to say YES. Bike rides straight from the door, huge garden and woods. Out in the sticks.
We were in in 7 days with all new furniture etc. Just my library cabinets came with other odds and sods. All done over the Xmas/ New year holiday.
No stairs to lug the bikes up. Plenty for me to do in the garden, logging etc. But now having to cut that back a bit.
No travelling to baby sit or dog watch.
We had a big modern detached 4 bed house In Knaresborough but after retiring we wanted to travel with our caravan. We had not long completely refurbished house to a high standard. As we wanted to be away as often as possible March to October security became a problem so up for sale it went.
Looking at the houses that were being built after we sold our house none but none fitted the bill.
Do they build bungalows these days ?
