Big Issue Sellers

I wonder how many people are aware that the people selling The Big Issue are getting every benefit you can think of from the UK government as they are all classed as self employed and are entitled to a National Insurance Number which gives them access to child benefit housing benefit cost of living and energy handouts etc etc

It’s been like that for years, selling the Big Issue was not meant to be like that, nearly all of the sellers seem to be of Roma origin, we avoid them and would never buy from them.

Liz, we have had a young Romanian woman outside the main shopping area for quite a few years,. The only two English words seem to be “Big Issue” She has been pregnant twice, but only missing for a couple of weeks. I’m told an elderly relative collects the cash and supplies more magazines.

We have a reputation of being the easiest Country in the World to defraud. Its about time we tightened up and stopped wasting Tax Payers hard earned taxes.

Did anyone read multi millionaire pervert Gary Glitter had a knee operation (£15,000) on the Tax Payers expense while in Prison?
Surely that money should be repaid from his fortune?

Norman, I read that story, I was so incensed when you think of the thousands of ordinary people waiting in agony for this type of surgery, along comes this totally odious man who obviously has money in his bank accounts so could afford this surgery, but no he jumps queues and has the op at the tax payers expense, all completely wrong.

Do our MPs not think like we do and sort this kind of thing out. He's worth millions.

At last count Glitter was worth around £6.5 million. He no longer receives any royalties for songs anywhere in the world,
his songs are blacklisted on radio and no recordings of his song are available on cd nonetheless he should have been made to pay for his care and surgery, the biggest problem is getting access to his money as no doubt its squirreled away offshore.
There is supposed to be a limit on what big issue vendors can earn as a few years
back a vendor at King's Cross was earning around £1200 per week and there was no limit on the amount he was getting . Big Issue had to bring in a limit whether its still being adhered too I couldn't tell you.
