Gateshead FC labour council refuse to help

The National League has announced that following a decision of the English Football League (EFL), Gateshead Football Club has failed to meet the entry criteria for membership to the EFL. As a result, Gateshead FC will not be permitted to participate in the play-offs this season. This decision is based on the club being unable to meet the 10-year security of tenure at Gateshead International Stadium. Gateshead was barred from National League playoffs over the ground lease, sad news, from our local club, and no help from the labour council's disgusting attitude, but remember them when voting.
The councils statement is they have offered a 10 year lease but as they are outsourcing all the sports and leisure facilities there's a leasebreak and this is what the EFL object to as the lease will be up for renegotiation with whoever will be running the stadium etc. Its not good and EFL are being pedantic and the council could change the wording to enable Gateshead to continue into the playoffs but it needs to be done today, the playoff is scheduled for tomorrow .
