Big wedding in India

Loads of “Stars” and politicians there, no doubt on freebies and the fancy dress provided.

What a complete waste of money that could have been used on the poor..

Just been reading the article and looking at the photos, TB is there with his odious wife, he looks like one of the villains from a Bond Movie I have to try and remember the name, there is a photo of Carrie Johnson, she does look amazing in her outfit, Boris is there but no photo of him as yet. Apparently this wedding is costing around £250 million which is obscene considering such poverty in India, but we still contribute to the Indian economy by sending them money which they then spend on vanity projects, when will it end?

Boris was just behind Carrie dressed in a normal suit and carrying their youngest child.

Of course if I had been invited I would have gone you just couldn’t miss a chance like that.

VIPs from around the world are invited to an Indian wedding so extravagant (£250million) it will shut down the heart of the country's financial capital.
Boris Johnson, Tony Blair and David Beckham are reportedly among the guests at the wedding of the son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest man, in Mumbai.
The four-day extravaganza kicks off on Friday, but Anant Ambani's marriage to longtime girlfriend Radhika Merchant, both 29, is the culmination of celebrations throughout the year.
Rihanna sang at a three-day event in March, while Katy Perry and Pitbull performed on a European cruise with 800 guests in May, local media reported, and Justin Bieber performed last week at a private concert.
According to Rajan Mehra, the chief executive of Club One Air, the Ambanis have hired three of his company's Falcon-2000 jets to ferry wedding guests and expects more than 100 private planes to be used.
"The guests are coming from all over and each aircraft will make multiple trips across the country," he said.

Asian Weddings go on for days, India as a country are horrendous at looking after the less fortunate, the tax system is chaos and the rich often pay nothing to it. It's all about show and influential people being there to show how important the family are

I know Brian it’s the same with Muslim Weddings, I know these people should be able to spend their money how they see fit, but I do think a bit of consideration for the people in India who live in real poverty, maybe they could have given a donation to a charity supporting the less fortunate Indian population. Don’t get me wrong I don’t envy the money this family have they have made it let them enjoy it but like I say a bit of thought for the unfortunates would be nice.

I have ran charity auctions in the past and found Indians were the worst bidders, Pakistani and Bangladesh people on the room put them to shame. They are not overly generous to charities based in India too.

In reality they are all from the continent of India. The Muslims in India demanded their own Country .Bangladesh was originally East Pakistan, but fought to be independent. All originally India.

I realise that but of all the communities at that event the Indians were the tightest. I have just saw a picture of Boris and his good lady she looks spectacular he looks like he slept in his outfit. That's not having a pop it's fact.

Brian, I saw the same photo, I just don’t know what Boris is thinking about to turn up an event looking like a scarecrow, he looks terrible, he has put on so much weight, the previous photos showed him in a suit he looked so much better, I remember when Boris and Carrie first got together she made him loose weight he looked so much better, maybe she should be at him again. . Carrie Johnson has looked really fantastic in the 2 outfits that she has been seen in, Boris is letting her down.

Brian, I’ve not seen the photo, of Boris, but his wife does look amazing. I honestly think he loves looking a mess, perhaps to be noticed . I’m sure his wife could have got him to tidy himself up.

Malcolm I believe I read that what we send in aid is roughly the same amount as the cost of the Indian space program, you couldn't make it up.

But the government justifies the aid, by saying that we benefit from that investment of aid, by Indian companies trade.

So we are bribing Indian companies to trade with us?

If we stopped the aid, would those companies stop selling their goods in the UK?

I agree totally Malcolm, those companies don't see any of the money so why send it to be spent on rocketships.

Malcolm, past governments used to justify the aid, as it was helping poor countries and the would not want to emigrate. Obviously it didn’t work, perhaps that's why we are not told that anymore..
