A great pity, but every cloud has a silver lining in as much as Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon are coming back to Newcastle injury free!!!

Some years ago there was a lot of talk that the way our football is SET UP. In particular the Premier League. Also the wages and life style of players does not help.

Gareth Southgate has done a great job but in the final analysis it’s down to the players.

Have we ever had anyone that could hold a candle to Ronaldo.

Best and Gascogne excellent who else? The Charlton bros etc great plus others.

Today’s football a way different to years ago.

Our teams seem to be unable to cross the finish line WHY?

I don’t often watch football but the ladies teams seem to be able to put on a good show.

Some concern for NUFC fans must be that if Southgate stand down Eddie Howe is high on the list of replacements.
He has real, tactical nouse and must impress the decision makers
I would not wish to lose him!!

I did hear 2 other names mentioned - Graham Potter and Jurgen Klopp, hope they leave Howe exactly where he is.
