Manchester Police Officer suspended

The Police Officer who kicked a man in the head and then stamped on his head all of this happened after the man had been Tasered and was lying on the ground, Manchester Police 1st of all decided to take him off operational duties, now they have suspended him.If that had taken place by an Employee in any industry He would have been arrested,locked up and charged with GBH his Employer would have dismissed him for gross misconduct.That Police Officer should be out of a job and locked up awaiting trial,not suspended on full pay

Firstly, I am in no way condoning what this police officer did, there are videos airing showing only on side of the events. There are photos in the newspapers of the person whom the police officer kicked in the face, very strange but this person does not have any bruising on his face, this person, apparently, took himself off to hospital then once he was released took himself to the demonstration that was taking place outside a police station. It must have been some fight, before armed police officers turned up, if a female officer sustained a broken nose and her colleagues also sustained injuries, like I say only one side of the events have been videotaped.

Just read that the man that was attacked by the police officer is now in hospital, conflicting sequence of events in the media.

Liz and Maria I hear/read what you both say Regardless of the lead up to what happened the Police are trained to use the equipment they carry, he had done that, the man lying on the bottom had been tasered he couldn't move and there is a Police Officer kicking and stamping on his head . No one in the Force is allowed to kick and stamp on a defenceless mans head, regardless of events.

As I have said I don’t condone what the police officer did, the point that I was making was there are only videos showing what happened after the initial incident, I would like to see what happened initially. It seems as though the injuries received by the police officers, in particular the policewoman who suffered, don’t seem to matter, how are these officers?

One version of events , their mother had complained to them about a man on her flight, so they went after him then the police got involved.

As more information is given about the incident at Manchester Airport, a Reform MP wants the full force of the law on the Asian brothers who seem to have started it all. This will be interesting .

That’s correct Sheila, Richard Tice is demanding that these brothers feel the full force of the law, strange still no details or videos of the events leading up to this incident, also no information about the injured officers.

The lawyer representing the brothers wants all of the officers involved arrested, he makes no mention of the injuries his clients caused to the police officers!!! This incident was not a one way street.

Will we ever get the full story, what goe's against the policeman is the use of "reasonable" force. I don't think the term reasonable force will apply here I think it's a retaliatory reaction from earlier in the incident.

Brian, you are right what the policeman did I don’t condone, apparently prior to that incident 2 female officers were attacked and seriously hurt, I think that is what provoked the officer, but the brothers who committed violence against the police offers cannot be seen to get away with their crime.

I know there is an ongoing investigation, we can debate all we like, different assumptions etc, I doubt we will ever know the full story, we really shouldn’t speculate.

I am wondering where all the cctv is from the airport, surely that will give us a more accurate timeliness. Charges should be imposed on those who initiated the violence, I am afraid the policeman will also be included in those charged.

Of course Violence can’t be condoned , but like in war the soldier will first think of protecting his comrade. The Policeman was angry at seeing two female officers being

attacked. One punched in the face. It appears things got out of hand. I’m not excusing the policeman, just unfortunately his instinct was uncontrolled anger. We might never know

A statement by Andy Burnham has said its a much more complicated scenario than what has been see so far. The cctv is being used in the investigation so is not in the public domain . The incident started in the car park 4 arrests were made following a serious incident and a female police officer was punched to the ground. The officer who kicked the man has been referred to the CPS following a police enquiry.

This morning, I watched how the incident unfolded. It looks like a couple of officers were trying to apprehend an individual stood by what looks like a vending machine...with other officers looking on.
One individual (who subsequently got kicked) assaulted the police officers (one of whom was trying to Taser the original "suspect")
He then turned and swung at the female officer, flooring her (possibly the one with a broken nose)
He then turned back to the officer deploying his Taser, grabbing him from behind, and pulling him over.
It looks like the officer, going over backwards, landed on this guy, who seemed to have the wind knocked out of him...
I then saw the foot of another officer, kick this guy....
The frenzied attack, on officers carrying out their duty, was disgraceful, not to mention violent.
I have to say, if I was the victim of such an attack, I would have done exactly the same, to make sure this guy stayed down, having violently assaulted at least two, possibly three officers.

Just my opinion, but having seen that early footage from CCTV, it shows the officers in a completely different light, as opposed to the earlier report that he was already subdued & hand-cuffed: that was NOT what I observed.

Malcolm, i think you have grasped the situation perfectly, pity these videos were not shown earlier, thing is because of all of the speculation within the Media, I doubt very much if the officer involved will get the unbiased trial that he deserves, he has been found guilty by the Media.

Please don’t get me wrong on this matter perhaps he should have thought before he went in heavy handed, but as Malcolm has said this officer’s colleagues had received a very severe beatings, also in this day and age you never know if someone is carrying a weapon?
