If this happens I really don’t see how OAPs with limited income will manage, the Tories thought about it but decided against it now it is back on the table again.

Liz not been aware of that but nothing would surprise me.

Labour have been in power for less than a month now. Reading various comments in the press usually the Express and Mail ( don’t expect the Sun and Mirror to be critical.)

Everybody is going it be screwed no matter who they are but starting with pensioners. Easy targets?

It seems to me that the wheels are starting to come off the Labour Government ( if they were ever on).

Lots of U turns and new bits of an a gender coming to light.

I shudder to think what the U.K. will be like in 5 years time if I’m still around as will be nearly 86/87 by then.

Possible prescription costs meaning that you have to pay for medication up to say 66 instead of 60 in-line with pension age rise.

Other stuff too much to list.

Well it will certainly be a death sentence for many elderly who need their prescription to keep breathing.

It’s just raising the starting age limit from 60 to say 66 not the whole free prescription scheme.

Beware giving out the wrong info. It’s not policy yet but it appears it’s been mulled over.

One could read that they don’t want people to live too long after retirement to save money. Surely even they cannot be that daft!

The prescription rise was first mentioned about 18 months ago, it was shelved a but had never gone away, the thought was to bring it in line with pension entitlement.

When I first read it my thought was a vote loser,when the pension age rises will prescription age entitlement rise in line with pension age.

It never gets mentioned the great benefit the Government get when people like my sister Marian died at just 59. She paid NI & taxes all her working life but like millions of others she never reached pension age. RIP Marian
