Many demonstrations are due to take place across the country, currently there is a demo taking place in Sunderland, more due to take place over the weekend in other locations. Starmer has completely mis read the situation, he seems to be homing in on the symptoms not the cause, if you sought out the cause, I.e. mass immigration and all that it entails, I don’t think I need to list the issues, Politicians need to cure the cause then maybe these mass demonstrations would not be taking place.

The other thing that concerns me is this constant reference to the Far Right who are supposedly responsible for the demonstrations, it is not just Far Right people demonstrating it is ordinary people who are fed up, they feel that they are not being listened to it’s about time Politicians listened and took note.

Liz it is far right groups primarily the English Defence League, who are basically the National Front for the millennium and the various toerags that turn up at the chance of trouble. A far right website has been coordinating a further 15 demos across the country in the coming weeks, I wonder if they'll be shut down before they start.

Brian, I think we have to agree to disagree on this matter, I don’t dispute the fact that Far Right Groups are in attendance, but it is not just the Far Right taking part in these demos, there are ordinary people there, I know that in Sunderland there were many ordinary people there as a few of my friends took part but left when violence erupted, there are people from Far Left Groups as well, then, of course, you have the usual rent a rabble who turn up at every demo regardless of what is is about, they just like to cause trouble.

These demos, that inevitably turn violent, do not help any cause regardless of what the cause is, what good does looting local shops, setting fire to locals cars, injuring police officers that kind of thing it just alienates people.

I do not condone violence, looting etc, but this is just the start of blue torch paper that has been lit and is simmering, people are fed up with matters in this country, it just takes a few fools to get together then the eruptions will take place.

I still feel that Starmer is not taking the right attitude towards this, neither are the Police, you cannot say that one lot of demonstrators will be treated differently to other demonstrators, if you want to clamp down on demonstrations act fairly.

Just my views.

Liz, this has been coming for a long time. No one wants these dreadful riots, but, whether people would admit to it or not . I have friends from different Parts of the country and lots of locals, who hate what has been allowed to change the UK, not only immigration. Soft on drugs and on crime, while we the people who have always paid our taxes and been law abiding are afraid to go out in the evening. We recently had a judge who jailed the “Just Stop oll “ idiots and how the “left “ screamed their displeasure. More Judges like him are needed.

I saw on the T V police in riot gear and among them was a tiny woman PC. She should not have been anywhere near the place.

Alan, perhaps you’re correct, but if feminists want equality, equality in every part of the job has to be expected. I never thought it was a good idea. I like having the door opened for me and I never forget to say thank you. How often I see old and young gentleman pleased when I’ve thanked them.

Liz, I agree, although some looking for trouble :ie Anarchists will join in, they do it to both left or right. Remember the Muslims protesting every week about Gaza they caused trouble but the BBC didn’t mention it. The last Labour government nearly destroyed our country, this lot will finish it as a country we remember. Being advised by T Blair behind the Scenes .

Use the army and water canons. This country needs heavy action not standard riot police. They need heavy backing.

The only way to stop all if this violence is to send in armed forces with teargas and water canons. If they want violence then they should be given it from the forces....

Quite the opposite in France with our sporting youngsters striving to make Britain look great and on the other hand we have these yobs doing what they do. If they were to channel their energies into something useful instead of rioting then perhaps we could become GREAT again.

Well I hope no one is expecting schools are going to help with better education. Professor Becky Francis has been put in charge by Bridget Phillipson, who we know hates Private education. She wants sweeping changes to education. Less of teaching by rote
and even less emphasis on exam grades. More understanding on race gender etc. so it’s more social engineering than education.

What a surprise that a Daily Mirror reader would spout such nonsense. I guess you're probably retired and have old world views of what Britain was in the year 19xx. Wake up it's 2024 and those working are working very hard for themselves and the country and don't want all of this stupidity and thuggery - It gives businesses and the country a bad name. We've got enough problems to deal with.

English Defence League arranged these demos which all are, shock horror, all violent. I'd take the lot of them and swap them for immigrants any day of the week and let them try and survive in another country. At least they would appreciate the opportunities that they have here. (Maybe it's the first reality TV series I'd enjoy watching...)

Please don't think you're speaking for the nation & remember people just voted. You are the extreme minority (just a very vocal one).

Well Liz has posted link to them multiple times (And Express another toilet worthy news paper) - I would typically never read it.

Personally I'm not politically affiliated - I just try to add a bit of balance to the force. Normally I'd just browse but I was pretty shocked what my eyes were seeing.

Michael, I never read the Daily Mirror as a consequence would never list articles from that paper, I can’t call it a newspaper because to my mind it isn’t, so I would suggest that you read the source before commenting.

To be honest it is nice to hear your views they are not reflecting the views of majority, this Board allows people to comment on what they think so long as you are not rude to each other, we all have an opinion, I respect your opinion, hopefully you can respect mine, exchange of views is a good thing, I don’t have to agree with you, just as you don’t have to agree with me - keep on posting.

Michael, I have just read on Facebook a middle aged Muslim taxi driver, who was born here has been told to go back to his own country. It has certainly pulled me up with my replies. We all have a go if we feel we need to and Perhaps we react when we feel threatened or want to defend what is written, but I do believe in the end we are a tolerable country, we just want to be heard as no politicians are listening to us. No personal offence meant.

Sheila there was a small convenience store smashed up last night in Newcastle, not right wing just nasty little thugs who are jumping on the bandwagon. This man's family has had the shop nearly 40 years he's in total shock.

It was ,they were teens, they turned up on a service bus from Westerhope/ West Denton area wrecked the shop and fled, Local community have rallied around and local trades have offered help, but these are the scumbags that attach themselves to the troubles and while police services are stretched dealing with the trouble this lot think they'll get away with it. Courts don't do anything a good hiding is what they need.

Oh Brian you do surprise by saying a good hiding is what these kids need, that’s not like you? Thing is Brian that is exactly what some kids need, in years gone by when I was a kid if we do much as saw a policeman coming towards you you panicked, if you had been doming something you shouldn’t a clip round the ear was given by the policeman, you never committed the crime again, I don’t agree with cruelty towards children but sometimes I am sure a hard slap would work!!

It's the last resort,Liz they go to court and between the social workers and the solicitors telling the judges that how out of character it was and the hard life they've had , they walk out laughing. The amount of charities that help the perpetrators compared to the ones that help victims are a ratio in favour of the perpetrators of around 30 to 1.Its quite shocking really.

Thinking about victims during the riots, I am wondering Insurers will view paying for cars that have been burnt out, I don’t think they pay for civil riots, I must check my policy, but I do think that I have read that somewhere.

Oh, I’ve read the odd article online and my parents would sometimes buy the paper, as well as the Sun and the Star back in the day.

Who is this ‘we’ you talk about? I’m not part of the ‘we’.
I’ve worked across England, including places like Bradford for many years with no issues with Muslims and Africans. Have you worked with them, talked to them? Perhaps they aren’t all violent and are just hard working humans like the rest of us.

As usual I feel what people absorb from ‘online sources’ conflicts with the reality of the situation.
