'Jarrow Park' known as 'West Park' and also 'Ducks Park' in 1927. thanks to the Britain from Above website who I help by adding locations.

Very rare for me to be in that area except passing through.

However was there a college building maybe a pre fab. On Croft Terr.. took my J1&J2 exams there 1957-59.

Ann worked on Bedeburn Road near the Park church in about 1967-69 just before we moved to Harrogate.

Oh nearly forgot born at Danesfield just out of shot.

There were Technical College prefabricated buildings on Kitchener Terrace in '54 next to JGS but I have no knowledge of any at Croft Tce.

It was Ann I think either went to Croft Terr. Either for typing or Pianos lessons.

There was a Prefab building on Bedeburn Rd, roughly bottom right on the photo but just out of view.
It was part of Hebburn Technical College Jarrow Premises. They also had prefab classrooms in Kitchener Tce alongside Jarrow Grammar School field. I had Technical Drawing classes in the Bedeburn Rd building and other lessons Kitchener Tce 1959-60

I often posted old photos on Mike Ellison's 'Hebburn' message board. Twenty or more years ago I posted a Jarrow Park photo on it looking south into Wansbeck Rd just past the Tennis Courts (as seen on that aerial photo). A board regular at the time was Len Stephenson,a Hebburn ex pat living in Canada and he asked me a question. He said he went to Jarrow Central School & used to walk a girlfriend called Margaret Craig past those Tennis courts. Then he said he'd forgotten the name of the street so I said it is Wansbeck Rd. I asked if he could remember where in the street and he said Number 78.
The coincidence is that many years later Joan & I bought 78 Wansbeck Rd and lived there until 1986.
When we bought it in 1977 the house had been Mr Unsworth's who had recently died.
Len died a long time ago. He often phoned me to hear my 'Geordie'accent. When he was young, Len lived in Blindburn St & got evacuated to Canada WW2. After returning to Hebburn post ww2 he worked in Frasers Drawing Office, but he had fell in love with Canada so returned eventually. RIP LEN.

That's a fantastic photo, Norman. Thank You.

Particularly relevant, as in 1913, my Grandparents James William Siddle & Hilda Alice Elliott were married in the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Lovely to see it all looking so nice & clean, as someone has already mentioned.
