All our family have been Sunderland supporters. G G /F, G/F, father, me and my son.

Dad played there a few times probably for the NE League.

All except me would be regulars.

My son when talking today thinks that the gate in the 30’s could have been maybe as high as 75,000 but it was vastly cut back.

Photos taken inside the ground please there are plenty online from aircraft.

I have no loose photographs of Roker Park but if you are interested I would recommend the following book

written by Paul Days
published by Haynes Publishing in 2010
ISBN:978-1-844259-97-7

The book has 207 pages of photographs, articles and newspaper reports of Sunderland AFC from 1879 to 1992 includes many photo's taken inside Roker Park.

I support Sunderland only because all the male family did/ does.

Not really interested. I have been to St. James Park years and years ago.

As both teams are were pathetic years ago I dropped interest.

I’m a sport player not a watcher, regretfully the player bit now Ummmm.

I was a runner just for fun but for fitness for my diving activities, cycling of course has now taken over.

Men’s football I find poor but some of the ladies games very good, has money ruined things, very probably.

I have always watched Motor racing but take F1 that now no where near what it used to be back in the 70’s. Money ruined F1.

Trying to understand Cricket as Granddaughter plays for Yorkshire U 18’s and also the Northern Diamonds U 18 which is a combination of Northumberland, Durham and Yorkshire.

The ECB scouts were watching the academy teams during the week and there is 3 days next week where all academy teams are under the spotlight of the ECB. 8 Northern counties at Loughborough and 8 southern academy further. South.

Many years ago Sunderland were called 'The Bank of England club'.

Funny but I have never been to or featured into the ground, past it a few times. However, I always like to see them doing well.

Sunderland's hand was forced when the all seater stadium rule came in. The best they would have been able to accommodate would have been 22,000. They wanted to build at Washington but complaints from Nissan forced them to look elsewhere, that's why they are at the Stadium of Light.

There's a housing estate on the site of Roker Park today.

The bank of England title was during 30s/40s I think. Top crowd around 68000 Man United 1968?
The old Roker end was roughly 27000.
My family's used to watch both Sunderland and Newcastle as I did as I did as a kid from 60s by 70s was Newcastle after 74 final.
From Charlie Hurley to Joe Baker to Pop Robson Wynn the leap to Super Mac.

There was a 75,000 gate in the 1930s not a clu who against.

Open to correction but don’t ask me why but I think the highest attendance may have been against Derby County?
