On 8th July, I sent a letter to the directors of the RNLI expressing my concerns over using the lifeboat as a ferry and that the RNLI is the only way to stop illegal immigrants getting here as Mr Starmer had no intention of doing so. The public are funding the fuel bill. I never did get a reply but hey-ho this morning I got an E Mail asking me to donate! My reply included that ignorance is one cause I do not support!

Just for clarity how many letters did you send between 2018 and June 2024 and how many responses did you get from the RNLI?

I can’t find any record of their policy having changed since the election however for the first time migrants were returned to France on the 17th July ‘24. (Thanks to Starmer then?).

It just seems a bit rich blaming Starmer when Johnson, Truss and Sunak were at the helm for most of it and apart from planning on sending 300 migrants @£2million each the previous government seemed to be swimming against the tide, so to speak.

This is the main letter Bill. It is pointless now as they don't reply so I have given up. I have wondered why they did not reply and I told them I was ex enterprise. This thread is the update to a post weeks ago. I apologise too as I missed the 17th July return to France.

The immigrants were returned to France as the dingy/ boat got into difficulties in French waters, border patrol helped with the rescue. Usually French vessels escort the boat to British waters , then British border patrol escorts them, usually to Dover.

That’s exactly how it was Sheila, nothing to do with Starmer just common sense used why this tactic is not use more often is a mystery to me!!!

Like you though Stan I will never donate to the RNLI as long as they operate a taxi service to the UK.

What are the Government to do?

At least the flights had a minor effect on those trying to cross. That cut stupidly before anything else in place.

So just what could the Government, any one, do. That is legal !

Yes it’s got to stop and the people sent back or away but how!
