The GCSE results are out

There will be a lot of either happy or disappointed youngsters today.

Our Granddaughter will be very very happy with hers in 9 subjects and also a Cricket award at the weekend.

I’m just about to go to the recycling tip with all her old school papers going back a few years.

Just glanced at a few, way way beyond me. How they take in all the info. Is beyond me and then to sit exams on it!

The weight of all the papers high.

My next door neighbours daughter, has been offered a place at Cambridge depending on her A Level results. I ‘m happy to say

A* for Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I was frightened to ask, as knew how important it was. I read it in the local newspaper, so all went well. Phew.!.

I don’t know what our Granddaughter plans to do.

I think she is going to do business studies starting next month.

However it’s backup to her cricket plans.

A lot will depend on if she wishes to take over the family business when parents decide to retire say in 10 years. Maybe that would be too mundane for her.

It wouldn’t surprise me that she goes off on another track.

Alan, I think she is doing so well with cricket, that might be her chosen profession. Like you say she might just go off on another track.

Nothing would surprise me. Her mother, my daughter has a very good business head and pushy. I have a feeling that Granddaughter is more of the same and combined that with her Dad’s sport and business head?

I know that she set up her own small businesses some years ago but dropped them due to school and cricket activities.
