When Andrew Leslie came down to Hebburn in 1853 to start his shipbuilding business he brought with him some workers from Scotland who once a year held games on the ballast hill. These two photo dated from around 1883.

Exellent photos the pipers fully fitted out even to the knifes in their right stocking can say its name but not spell it.

I wonder what it was like in 1886 when my G G/F came down from Paisley.
