Happy 97th birthday to my Forum regular Robert Noble

Our oldest Board regular is Robert Noble born Campbell St, 1927. He attended the long gone Quay Board School a 2 min walk away. Here he is in the centre of the middle row in this class photo below.
He'll be 97 yrs young sometime in September so Happy Birthday

when it comes Robert.
I keep telling him there can't be many people his age that can phone me for a chat, email me, post on the board & have such a great memory.

Thanks for those kind words Norman As your snippets show 1927 many outstanding events world wide( including 15 Campbell Street)----but, we will pass over that for now--, also one year before the Tyne Bridge Opened. The world was coming back to life after the end of WW1. Then ten years later! everything went pear shaped,WW11, In which I played my part, that is another story.Before I forget 13th of October is my birthday.I have been saving up towards it for some months now, jelly and custard will be on the menu

I remember a good friend of my family years ago called Austin Noble - - a unusual name so if he is a relative he should be easy to place

Hellloooo Margaret. Sadly no Ringtons, on the hard stuff at the moment , Yorkshire Tea to be made with Yorkshire water don't quite tase the same using Bristol Water , down here today there is a supper abundance of that . bob.

I am from a family of 10 children my parents had 7 sons 3 daughters my twin Robert and my self are the youngest.of the boys.
The photo shows a photo taken at the Quay Board school in the 1930s all of us boys went to the Quay Board three of my elder brothers would or might be in the photo Norman.
Jim Barker was the oldest then John then Ronnie youngest of the three,lfeel sure the lad standing at the back far right is our John,l wonder as a long shot Bob Noble could help.?

Hi Tom,
I managed to get some names for the photo years ago, amd maybe it was Bob Noble that gave me them. The lad top right I was told is called Javan, but maybe Bob can verify if its right or wrong.

Sorry Tom. The top right young lad, his face looks familiar but I can't put name to him, he looks like one of the lads who came to play in my street (Campbell Street) Where was he living around that time?
